Joleen's research in the Field-Sierra research group involved collaboration with Pima County and the WEST Center to develop Anammox bacteria for nitrogen removal in wastewater. She graduated with an MS degree in Environmental Engineering in May 2021. In her free time, Joleen likes to camp, paint, and volunteer with the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum at their stingray touch exhibit.
